Miami serial cat killer out of jail

The Miami teen accused of brutally killing nearly two dozen cats was released on bail because he poses no danger to himself or the community, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Are fucking kidding me?

Tyler Weinman, 18, allegedly terrorized a community with a month-long gruesome killing spree of neighborhood cats in the Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay areas of Miami. Most of the animals were found gutted and skinned on front lawns over the last month.

He was arrested on June 13 and charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, four counts of burglary and 19 counts of improper disposing of an animal body.

Judge John Thornton ordered Weinman released after a brief hearing after his bond, which was set at $249,500, was posted Tuesday. The teen was ordered to house arrest wearing an a GPS ankle bracelet for monitoring his movements.

The judge had previously ordered a pschiatric evaluation for the suspect. According to the ruling today, the psychiatric exam indicated Weinman does not appear at risk of harming himself or others.

Observers and community members expressed outraged that the sick fuck was released.

The Miami Herald reported that Weinman, appearing in court wearing a red jumpsuit used for high-profile inmates, "smirked and nodded to his father and stepmother."

The newspaper quoted one of his lawyers, Michael Walsh, as saying Weinman is innocent and that police rushed to arrest him without evidence because of an intense public outcry over the cat killings.

Weinman could face a sentence of up to 158 years in jail. (see Serial cat killer caught, Miami Police say posted June 14). We all know that won't happen.

Weinman's parents did not return AP calls seeking comment; however, I just saw the father on CNN claiming Tyler is not the killer, noting--big shocker here--that he's "a great kid" that "loves animals." They're always great kids, aren't they?

Word is he was the ring leader of a cat killing mob in those neighborhoods, which doesn't surprise me a bit.

In any case, if he's the killer, he's toast. If he's not, I have no doubt it won't be long before the killer is caught. But if you ask me, he was already caught.

Woman set on fire in Houston

First we have the case of a 33-year-old woman in Houston who answered her front door Saturday "to an unknown person" only to be doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire.

Neighbors said they saw her running and described her as being on fire "from head to toe."

No one has been arrested.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized in critical condition with burns over most of her body.

Woman webcasting live sexual abuse of her kid busted

British detectives said Monday an investigation into Internet child pornography uncovered a woman in the U.S. suspected of using a webcam to broadcast live sexual abuse of her young child.

Another one for the Mother of the Year award...

British police launched the investigation last Thursday when officers arrested an 18-year-old man in central England, who was later charged with possessing and distributing abusive images of children, Reuters reported. The following day, detectives contacted Britain's Child Exploitation Online Protection agency and the U.S. Embassy, leading to the arrest of the woman in Maine.

Police said the woman's four children, aged between 18 months and five years, had been taken into protective custody and she had been charged with gross sexual assault and was being held on a $20,000 bail.

"Our officers worked through the night on Thursday and Friday to ensure the identification and safety of these children across the other side of the world," said Detective Chief Inspector Dave McCrone of West Midlands Police.

That's all we know so far.

Miami serial cat killer could face eternity in prison

Tyler Hayes Weinman, could face a maximum of 158 years in state prison if convicted on all counts stemming from a month-long horrific torture and killing spree of his neighbors' cats.

They 18-year-old punk was arrested Saturday and charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, 19 counts of improper disposal of dead animals, and four counts of burglary.(See Serial cat killer caught, posted June 14)

Weinman lives in Cutler Bay and has lived with his parents in Palmetto Bay, the two towns where the 19 cats were killed.

Pet owners and police began discovering skinned and gutted cats May 13. Thirty-four cats have been found dead in the towns, but only 19 could be linked to the serial cat killer, as some of the cats were killed by dogs.

Weinman, who works odd jobs but spends most of his time at home and unemployed and whose sealed juvenile record includes two prior offenses, had been a person of interest for several weeks, police said.

"The cruelty of these crimes were horrific for the animal victims, but there were many human victims as well," Cutler Bay Mayor Paul Vrooman said."Let's not forget the children and the families who found their pets mutilated. These awful scenes inflicted a human toll."

Serial cat killer caught, Miami police say

Did or didn't I say this sick fuck would turn out to be a teenage boy (or boys)?

Here we go:

A teenager has been arrested in a string of cat killings and mutilations that horrified residents of Miami's southern suburbs, police said on Sunday.

Tyler Weinman, 18, of Cutler Bay, Florida, was taken into custody earlier today, charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, 19 counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four counts of burglary.

Police have said more than two dozen pet and stray cats were killed at night in the Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay neighborhoods during the past two months. In some cases, the cats were skinned or gutted and the corpses left on the lawns or driveways of their owners.

They put Weinman's home in the Palmetto Bay village under surveillance several weeks ago after receiving tips from community members, said Miami-Dade Police Department Maj. Julie Miller.

"I sincerely hope that with this arrest, the residents will feel relieved and their cats will be safe once again," Miami-Dade County State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said. "It is expected that the vicious crimes that have plagued these communities will not be repeated."

In all, the deaths of more than 30 cats were under investigation, but Miller said some of those cats were likely killed by dogs. She said additional arrests might be forthcoming, but she declined to name other suspects (more teenager boys, if you ask me).

There's a hole in this story (and neither AP nor Reuters caught it): what is he looking at sentence-wise if he's convicted of these crimes? Prison time? Community service? Fines? What? Will he be ordered to groom cats for six months?

And if he goes to prison, what then? Free rent, free food, free gym, free cable TV, free clothes, free education, free healthcare... WTF? How is that any punishment for someone who did what he did?

Skin the fucker, roll him in salt and throw him on top of a massive pile of fire ants.

Sick Fuck of the Week: Serial Cat Killer

Miami Police are on the prowl for a person (sick fuck) who has mutilated more than 20 cats in two of Miami's southern suburbs in the past month, three of them this week.



Frightened pet owners in Cutler Bay and Palmetto Bay have been told to take their own cats indoors and to round up neighborhood strays at night, which is when the killer strikes, Reuters reported.

Cats have been found skinned and gutted, left dead on their owners' lawns, the Miami Herald reported.

"Someone is mutilating these cats. They are having their innards removed and sometimes their pelts are removed," Miami-Dade Police Officer Rebeca Perez told Reuters. The killer dumps the carcasses, sometimes on the owner's property, sometimes nearby, Perez said.

What an animal! No--scratch that: what a sick fuck human!

Dozens of dead cats have been found in the Miami area, raising fears that the perpetrator is mentally unbalanced and could begin harming people. (Ya think?)

Investigators have been hampered by residents who dispose of the remains before they can examine them for clues, the Miami Herald reported. Police are asking people who find a carcass in their front yard to leave it alone and treat it like a crime scene. They may cover the animal with a plastic bag, rather than cloth, which can taint evidence, according to the report.

Police said they would not speculate on a motive for the killings.

Well...let's see...he was sexually abused by a cat when he was five?

''This man [Man? How much you wanna bet it's a teen or teens?] is getting bolder and bolder. The cat that was found this morning was skinned from the waist down, and that takes longer and longer [Jesus!]. It is very frustrating and it is heart wrenching,'' said Dee Chess, founder of Friends Forever Animal Rescue in Palmetto Bay.

Another cat's belly was sliced from front to rear, and its skinned corpse was found on the owners' side yard, the Herald reported.

According to residents, the cats' butchered bodies have been left like mangled trophies on their owners' yards since early May. Research in psychology and criminology has shown that individuals who commit such acts of cruelty to animals often graduate to harming humans. (Duh!)

Last week, the Humane Society of the United States announced a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in what it called "serial cat killings.'' The reward was increased to $3,500 via Crime Stoppers. Tax-deductible donations are also being accepted to increase the reward amount, the Herald reported.

Now, here's the thing: Can you imagine what each and every one of those cats went through while they were being sliced, gutted and peeled like bananas? This is exactly what should be done to the SICK FUCK(s) when he/they get caught, if you ask me.
